Check WordPress Schema with Volteruno: A Practical JSON-LD Guide

If you want to check structured data on a WordPress page, start with the page that visitors actually see. Volteruno offers a Schema Markup Validator with an AI suggestion feature. It can inspect JSON-LD from a URL or pasted HTML, report basic issues and provide a suggested block to review. This is a checking and drafting workflow, not a switch that automatically configures every page of your website.

This guide explains how to use that tool and how to take a reviewed suggestion into your WordPress setup. It does not assume that connecting your site installs a site-wide schema manager, keeps product prices synchronized, or replaces your existing SEO plugin.

What structured data does—and what it does not promise

Structured data describes information in a form that software can interpret. JSON-LD is one way to express it. A page may describe an article, an organization or another appropriate entity. The markup belongs to the content on that page; it is not a place to add a service, rating or product that the page does not actually contain.

Google's introduction to structured data explains the distinction between structured information and supported search features. A recognized type can help a page qualify for a particular presentation, but a schema.org type existing does not mean Google offers a matching rich result.

There is no universal click-through-rate increase to apply to your site. Do not budget for a promised percentage, guaranteed stars or an automatic ranking improvement. A technically valid block is one part of a wider publishing task.

Use Volteruno's validator on one page

    1. Open the validator. Use the standalone schema validator, rather than looking for an unverified schema-activation menu in your site connection settings.
    2. Choose a URL or HTML. Enter the public page address, or paste the HTML you want to inspect. Use the final page you intend to publish, not an unrelated home page.
    3. Enter the email requested by the form. Avoid putting passwords, private customer records or access tokens into the URL or HTML field. Public page content is sufficient for this task.
    4. Run the check. Review the detected JSON-LD blocks, types, errors and warnings. If the page cannot be fetched, fix access or use the HTML option; a retrieval problem does not establish whether the page's markup is valid.
    5. Review any AI suggestion. Treat it as a draft. Compare every proposed value with your actual page and business information before copying it.

The current checker examines JSON-LD and a basic set of properties. Its score is an internal diagnostic score, not a Google score or certification. It is not a complete test of every schema.org rule or every Google rich-result requirement.

When you enter a URL, the checker fetches HTML. A script that adds markup later in the browser may not be represented in that response. If results differ from what you expect, inspect the actual page output and compare it with the HTML you submitted. Do not repeatedly press the check button as a substitute for identifying the difference.

    Review the suggestion before implementation

The AI suggestion uses limited page context and the detected issues. It does not establish that a proposed price, author, address or rating is true. Suggestions may contain placeholders or mistakes, and a check can finish without an AI suggestion being available.

For a useful review, compare the draft with a short factual checklist that you control:

    • Does the selected type describe the main content of this page?
    • Do the name, URL and organization identity refer to your actual business?
    • Are author details and dates accurate rather than invented to fill a field?
    • If the draft contains commercial details, do they match the current visible offer?
    • Are images relevant, accessible and genuinely associated with this page?
    • Have example values been removed or replaced with verified information?

If a field cannot be verified, do not fill it with a plausible guess. Check the requirements for the specific feature you are implementing and decide whether you have enough real information to use it. An attractive-looking block is not a reason to invent reviews, qualifications or event details.

    Understand the separate article-generation workflow

Volteruno's article-generation code also includes conditional helpers that can add HowTo, Recipe or ItemList JSON-LD to certain generated articles when the expected content structure is available. This is different from the standalone validator and does not amount to a full-site product, review or event schema service.

Those helpers may skip a block when the needed structure is absent. The presence of a generated block also does not prove that the destination theme or publishing system preserved it. Check the final published page before assuming that a particular schema type is present.

Most importantly, do not confuse generating a type with unlocking a Google display feature. HowTo remains a vocabulary term, but Google deprecated How-to rich results in 2023. Google's documentation updates also state that FAQ rich results stopped appearing from May 7, 2026. Neither type should be sold as a guaranteed rich-result benefit.

Add reviewed markup through your actual WordPress setup

First identify what already produces structured data on the page. Your theme, an SEO plugin or a commerce extension may already generate it. Adding another block without checking can create contradictory descriptions of the same item.

Use the documented method provided by the component you already manage. If it offers an appropriate schema editor, follow that component's instructions. If the work requires template changes or code insertion, ask the person responsible for the site to implement the reviewed block in a test environment. This guide does not prescribe a universal WordPress menu because installations differ.

Keep a copy of the existing configuration and change a small, clearly defined part first. Do not disable every schema-producing plugin simply because another tool generated a suggestion. Some plugins provide other functions that your site relies on. The goal is consistent information, not deleting all existing markup.

After implementation, inspect the resulting page rather than only the settings screen. Confirm that the intended block is present once where appropriate and that it describes the visible content. If the editor or publishing path removes script tags, use a supported implementation method instead of repeatedly pasting the same block.

    Test the appropriate things

Use the Schema Markup Validator for a broader vocabulary-oriented check. Use Google's Rich Results Test for the Google features that tool supports. They answer different questions; a type not supported as a Google rich result may still be valid schema.org markup.

Google's structured-data guidelines require accurate, relevant information and make clear that correct markup does not guarantee a rich result. Automated checks cannot prove all content-quality conditions. You still need to compare the values with the page.

Record what you changed, the page tested and any unresolved warnings. This makes a later review much more useful than a screenshot of a green score without context. If a warning is optional, understand it before adding unnecessary data just to improve the score.

Maintain it when the page changes

A one-time suggestion should not be treated as a promise of ongoing synchronization. When a price, availability, author, organization detail or page address changes, review the corresponding markup through the system that actually owns it. Do not assume that Volteruno's standalone check will revisit and update it automatically.

For a small site, keep a short list of important page templates and who is responsible for their metadata. For a larger site, have the site maintainer test representative templates after changes. This is a suggested maintenance process, not a claim that Volteruno includes a bulk schema-monitoring dashboard.

    Common questions

Does connecting WordPress automatically enable every schema type?

No such universal setup is established by the validator workflow described here. Check what your publishing path actually outputs and what your existing WordPress components manage.

Can I copy the AI suggestion directly?

You can copy an available suggestion, but review and validate it before implementation. The suggestion is not evidence that its factual values are correct.

Will a good score guarantee better rankings?

No. The checker score summarizes its own checks. It is not a ranking prediction, proof of eligibility for every feature or a guarantee of search visibility.

    Your next step

Choose one real page, run the Volteruno schema check, review the result and implement only what you can verify through your actual site setup. Test the final output and keep the record with your site documentation. That gives you a repeatable process without relying on invented controls or automatic SEO promises.
